There are 5 military academies. 

West Point is in New York
Annapolis is in Maryland
Air Force is in Colorado
Coast Guard is in Connecticut
Merchant Marine is New York

The process to get into an academy is lengthy and strenuous, however if you receive an appointment, it is a major accomplishment.

Summer Seminar 
​Every academy has some sort of summer program. These programs are around a week long, and are EXTREMELY beneficial to anyone interested in an academy. The applications for summer seminars open during Junior Year and are usually due by January, so if a student is interested they must get started early. To apply visit the specific academy's website.
